The Chief of Staff of the Army (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, on Tuesday reaffirmed to Bauchi his commitment to the achievement of his mission of strengthening the operational efficiency of officers and men. of the army through training and retraining for better service delivery.

The Chief of the Army said this during the closing ceremony of the live-fire exercise to close the 2021 training year at the Nigerian Army Armored School, held in Victor Kure. Armor Range, in Bauchi.

Gen. Yahaya said the training mainly focused on hands-on weapon handling, maneuverability, communication and maintenance of all variants of the armored fighting vehicles in the inventory of the Nigerian Army Armored Corps with the aim of to justify the expectations of the federal government and Nigerians on the military.

He said he was satisfied with the course and content of the training program where theoretical and practical lessons relating to the handling of armored combat vehicles were provided.

He said the training would go a long way in improving the combat skills and operational skills of participants in handling armored fighting vehicles in the field and challenged them to help him achieve his vision of ensuring an NA professional ready to accomplish assigned missions within a common environment for the defense of Nigeria.

“To realize my vision, I realized that the workforce is the most valuable asset that must be harnessed and developed for operational efficiency. You must therefore apply the acquired knowledge in all operations in which the Nigerian army is involved.

“It is said that the best well-being of a soldier is training, hence the essence of the various courses which today lead to live fire. “
