The Lincoln County Extension Office is offering a four-week live webinar series on Living Well with Diabetes detailing practical ways people can use to improve self-management of their type 2 diabetes.
âWe haven’t offered this series since before the pandemic, but when we did, participants reported great results in terms of overall health and even weight loss,â said Jessica Riggin, director of the Oklahoma State University Extension County office. âWe will be delivering the series online in the form of Zoom meetings on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm throughout November.â
The webinar series is offered free of charge. Registration is required to receive the Zoom password. To register, contact Riggin by email at [email protected] or by phone at 405-258-0560.
Topics will include meal planning, physical activity, and basic nutrition education. The live sessions are as follows:
November 9 – The plate method
November 23 – Create a diet
November 30 – Change in recipes
“COVID-19 has dismissed or alleviated concerns about diabetes in the minds of many, but the health of a diabetic depends on certain things and on maintaining scientifically proven protocols regarding diet and similar considerations,” said Riggin.
