QUEZON CITY: New Era University (NEU) hosted two international forums, six webinars via Zoom and NEU YouTube Live, and four activities during the second half of November and early December, according to NEU President Dr. Nilo Rosas.

On November 26 and December 1, the NEU Graduate School of Business, in cooperation with the Indonesian foreign policy community, sponsored the “Meet and Greet” and the NEU organized a “conference on international economics” with Dr Hoe Chin Goi from Nagoya. The NEU College of Arts and Sciences (NEU-CAS), in cooperation with the Psychology Society, the Psychology Review Group, the NEU Guidance and Counseling Center, the NEU Human Resource Department and the NEU Health Services Department, celebrated Awareness Month to Mental Health on October 25. to November 19. The Computer Science Students Association (ACSS) sponsored the Senior Programming Assistance Integration (SENPAI) where the fundamentals of programming were taught. NEU-CAS, in cooperation with the Public Administration Society, organized the “PAtalk: A Voter Education Webinar” on 23 November on the theme “Young people lead change” with Comelec Senior Commissioner Rowena Guanzon as a resource speaker.

At the same time, the Department of Sports, in collaboration with Studio 125, the Cabinet of the Minister of the University, the Department of Computer Services, the Multimedia Office of NEU, the Department of Human Resources and the Information Office, organized the Sports Week 2021 – Online edition from November 24 to December 1 with the theme “Teacher and staff of the NEU: keeping the mind and body strong and healthy under the new normal.” It was launched to promote the physical and mental health of the NEU workforce.

NEU-CAS, in cooperation with the New Era Biology Society, organized a collaborative webinar between faculty and students – Towards Quality Research in the New Normal with the topic “Statistical Principles of Hypothetical Testing” discussed by Professor Jaechelle Anne Terrago of the University Research Center on November 26.

The NEU College of Communication held the 2021 General Assembly on November 26. On November 27, NEU-CAS, in cooperation with the New Era Public Administration Society, organized the “Patalk on Parliamentary Procedure: How a Bill Becomes Law”. Atty. The NEU Political Science Society sponsored PolSci Week 2021 with the theme “Highlighting the versatility and spirit of students towards service and the cause for humanity” scheduled from November 29 to December 3, to highlight the creativity and excellence of students, and the strength of camaraderie through various competitions such as the Essay Writing Competition, the Traditional and Digital Art Competition, Quiz Bee and PolSci Fun Day.

Finally, on December 3, the NEU Law College and its Legal Aid Clinic, in partnership with and organized by law student-practitioners from the Clinical Legal Training Program (CLEP) and the Law Student Practice Program ( LSPP), will host the third series of webinars in the “What Every Juan Needs To Know About the Law” online conference series on Legal Awareness.

The first topic is titled “Voter Registration 101 and Youth Voting &”. Atty. Frances Carolyn Aguindadao-Arabe, Director 3, Department of Elections and Barangay Affairs (EBAD), Comelec, will be the keynote speaker.

The second topic entitled “Child protection policy”, with Atty. Bernardo Luceres, private law practitioner and chairman of the People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB), as a resource speaker.

In a related development, NEU-Rizal branch director Joey Red reported that two of the faculty members at NEU College of Agriculture in Pinugay, Baras, Rizal placed in the top six in the licensing exam. farmer from November 2021.
