National Learning Week celebrated with a series of virtual webinars

A NUMBER of virtual webinars are taking place throughout National Apprenticeship Week this year, providing exciting insight into how apprenticeships can provide people of all ages with the skills and experience to grow their careers.

The daily sessions will be hosted online during the week of Monday February 7 to Sunday February 13 and will cover many different aspects of learning in a fun and engaging way. Sessions can be booked online on the Thurrock Opportunities website.

Each session has been tailored to different audiences within the community, including sessions focused on those interested or considering learning. Webinars are also available for parents and guardians, teachers and employers on how they can further foster and support learning.

Cllr Barry Johnson, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “Apprenticeships are truly a phenomenal experience for those who undertake them.

“Through valuable work experience, people of all ages, from those leaving school, college or sixth form to those already in established jobs or careers, can find a new field or area they are passionate about and dive straight into learning new skills.

“The Thurrock Inspire Youth Hub, which will host the sessions, is a fantastic resource for those looking to start an apprenticeship and set themselves on the path to an exciting and fulfilling career.

“I would ask everyone to consider where an apprenticeship can benefit or support its development, with many online testimonials available from people who have joined the council as an apprentice, and their journey of professional development and success .”
