A study from LinkedIn reports that the year 2020 saw huge changes in career space, as 35% of Australians switched to remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Millennials or Millennials (those born between 1981 and 1994/6) experienced the greatest generational change in their working conditions throughout the year, with some 42 percent working remotely.

While many have embraced the flexibility offered by WFH (work from home), LinkedIn has also found that people’s mental health suffers.
Some 37% of Australians said their mental health was worse because of working from home, especially women – 45% of whom said their mental well-being had taken a negative turn.
A LinkedIn session explained how you can leverage your network to find a mentor today, after just 29% of Australians said they had a mentor, while 41% wanted one.

* 35% of LinkedIn respondents believe that contacting the companies they want to work for is the most effective way to get a job in 2021.
* Meanwhile, 35% believe improving skills by investing in e-learning is the most effective way to find a job in 2021.
* Some 27% believe that reconnecting and networking with former colleagues, both offline and online, is the most effective way to find a job in 2021.
* 36% of Australians believe that the competition for jobs in 2021 will continue to worsen.
* 20 percent of Australians want to try something different, but don’t know how to enter the industry.
* 47% would like companies to simplify the application process and 41% said they would like companies to consider candidates from a wider range of roles / industries.
* More people would like more constructive and detailed feedback after the interviews (39 percent).
* 41% would like to resume their usual, original routine this year, while 39% said they were more eager to focus on their mental health and work-life balance.
