The 30th International Boat Builders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) will once again feature its IBEX Education Conference, offering world-class technical information to attendees and ranging from in-depth pre-conference sessions and its famous series of seminars and lectures techniques, to new online workshops. .
Pre-conference sessions offer in-depth topics and hands-on training in a full or half-day format. The sessions include Electronic installer training, Marina 101, Basic Marine NMEA, Soundings Trade Only Leadership Summit, and Stability standards for boats over 20 feet, to name a few.
Produced with the show’s educational partners Professional boat builder, ABBRA, ABYC, NMEA and co-owner of IBEX NMMA; the series of seminars will be held from Tuesday September 28 to Thursday September 30 in the seminar room and will be divided into eight sections: construction methods and materials; Design and engineering; Emerging topics; Management policy; Operation of marinas and shipyards; Marine electrical systems; On-board marine systems; and Investigation and Remedy. Offering over 40 engaging new seminars, the seminar series includes dynamic information ranging from Decarbonization and safety improvements in the design and manufacturing process; Design for efficient production; and Lithium batteries: guidelines for the future.
The IBEX Seminar Series has attracted world-class speakers to present a variety of topics from all aspects of the industry. Notable presenters will include world-renowned cruiser and author Nigel Calder; Steve D’Antonio, Technical Writer at Professional boat builder; John McKnight, senior vice president of environmental and safety compliance at NMMA; Matt Lankowski, senior engineer and project manager at Glosten; Bill Regan, Naval Architect and Marine Engineer and President of Great Lakes Composite Engineering, LLC .; and Tim Shields, head of training and service development at MarineMax, to name a few.
Tech Talk workshops will take place live in the 3rd floor showroom throughout IBEX exhibition days. The one hour sessions will cover a variety of topics such as, Hydrofoil technology created to fly pontoon boats on water, Solutions to common shore power problems and Torx tube system for glue down installation of gyro stabilizers and generators. The Tech Talk Theater is sponsored by WEST SYSTEM Inc. and PRO-SET Inc.
Plus, registered attendees can browse a library of on-demand sessions and webinars tailored to their schedule and needs, including Recreational Boats and Composites Recycling Supply Chain Construction, and Supply chain opportunities and challenges. To attend the IBEX Seminar Series, visitors can register for an individual, triple or full conference pass. Visitors select the seminar in which they wish to participate; Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for paid and verified attendance at IBEX seminars at the rate of one CEU per hour.
