HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Drake State Community & Technical College offers advanced manufacturing bootcamps during the holiday season.

In addition to its original welding bootcamp, the college also offers three other bootcamps:

  • Artistic design Welding
  • Machine tools
  • Oil change safety inspection

The 8 hour bootcamps will be led by a certified Drake State instructor.

“You can create a gift this Christmas time by learning to change the oil in your engine or by soldering a beautiful sculpture for your loved one,” said Davian Talley, Apprenticeship and Placement Programs Coordinator. “Not only are these skills in demand, but also an enjoyable activity for you and your friends. “

“These bootcamps are also beneficial for industry leaders as they rely on us to recruit new workers and upgrade the skills of current employees,” said Talley. “They allow us to host bootcamps in their businesses.”

In addition, private group lessons are offered for a maximum of 10 people at a flat rate. For more information or to register for a bootcamp, visit the Drake State website or call 256-551-5227. All four bootcamps are scheduled to start in January.
