Delaware County’s New Suicide Prevention Coalition plans to contact the community next month.
The Coalition was launched in August. Their vision is to create a healthier community by eliminating suicides and connecting community members, especially adolescents, to the services available to them.
In October, the Coalition will organize free trainings for suicide prevention and the promotion of brain health. The trainings are open to the public. And thanks to funding from the Delaware County Board of Supervisors and Foundation for the Future of Delaware County, they’re free.
Evening training will take place on Monday October 4e and a lunch training will take place on Wednesday October 6e. More details will be available soon.
This month – during Suicide Prevention Month – the Coalition is posting signs and marketing in Delaware County to remind people that everyone has a role to play in suicide prevention. They are also asking businesses and individuals to put on green ribbons or decorate their storefronts during the month of September.
