With the improving Covid-19 situation in Delhi, the government is further easing restrictions under “Unlock 7.0” effective Sunday. The unlocking process has started in Delhi in a phased manner by allowing construction and manufacturing activities from May 31. In the following weeks, markets, malls, subways, restaurants and bars, and many other activities were allowed.

Delhi recorded 76 new Covid cases and one death on Saturday, the nation’s capital’s positivity rate fell to 0.09%, according to the Union Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, amid warnings of an impending third wave of Covid-19, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Friday adopted a color-coded response action plan under which curbs will be implemented in depending on the severity of the Covid-19 situation here.

Unlock 7 new directives:

  • The Delhi government has allowed educational and vocational training in the city. These include Delhi police training, army or vocational training of any institute, employee training and school and college related training. For this, it will not be necessary to request authorization from DDMA.
  • Now, university gatherings are also allowed in the nation’s capital.
  • Auditoriums and meeting rooms in schools or educational institutions will be open for educational training and meetings with 50% capacity.
  • However, all schools, colleges, educational or training facilities will remain closed.
  • All social, political, sporting, entertainment, cultural and religious gatherings and congregations related to festivals and the like are not permitted.
  • All Government Offices, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, Corporations, Local Bodies must operate with officers at Grade I and equivalent and above to the extent of 100% headcount. The remaining staff will assist up to 50% depending on the requirement to be evaluated by the relevant HOD.
  • All private offices in Delhi will be allowed to operate to the extent of their staff between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • All markets, market complexes and shopping malls will be allowed to open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Restaurants are allowed up to 50% capacity from 08:00 to 22:00.
  • Bars are allowed up to 50% capacity from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The metro will be allowed with up to 50% of the seat capacity.
  • Religious places will be allowed to open, but no visitors will be allowed.
  • Gyms and yoga institutes will be allowed to open up to 50% capacity.
